Super Bowl Commercials - Are you laughing?

The Super Bowl has grown to be an event that not many sports fans would miss on a bet, but you can bet that not many will miss the water cooler chater tomorrow about the commercials that are aired this afternoon. Last year it was estimated that 206 million dollars were spent on Super Bowl ads. I am not sure what the estimate is for this year, but you can bet it will at least equal last years expenditures.

In these times of great stress on our economy, is this the right place for some of our biggest companies in the US to invest their dollars? Do these dollars create jobs by bringing in sales, or are they just an attempt to flex some high paid executive's ego by capturing bragging rights amongst his or her peers?

Competing to Win! Why Southwest Airlines is in a league of their own...

It is hard for me to understand how airlines like United just don't have a clue. When it comes to knowing what good customer service is all about, all I have to do is take a look at Southwest Airlines. I know it when I see it. Southwest just gets it. Take care of your customers and they will come. Southwest is not lurking in the shadows to gouge you every chance they get. They want your business. They want your business today, and they want your business tomorrow. Your bags fly free on Southwest. Oh, and if you want to buy a non refundable ticket, that's okay. Southwest won't charge you some ridiculous amount to make a change and fly at a later date. They just make it easy. When I deal with them I feel like they are there for me. They want me to be happy. They want me to come back again and again. They also make flying with them fun. They joke around and don't take life too serious. If you want good service without losing your shirt, fly Southwest. And by the way, while your at it, Get your A on!

Today is the beginning of the rest of someones life. Perhaps yours. Perhaps mine. Perhaps your neighbors. With the new beginning comes responsibility. You have choices to make. I certainly hope you make good choices today. Not just today, but tomorrow and the next day too. And maybe the day after that. If we all would make good choices, the world would be a much better place to live. Unfortunately, there are some people in the world that don't make good choices. I am not sure if these people are the result of bad genes, poor upbringing, or just bad circumstances. It really doesn't matter because regardless of how they got to where they are, they still have the ability to make choices. Bad choices come with consequences. For all of the bad choices being made, the consequences will be equal to or greater than the sadness and pain those choices create.

Now I am going to make a choice. I choose to smile and move on! Peace! <3

Google? Why does Adsense make no sense (or do I mean cents)?

One of my biggest frustrations with developing software and distributing it for free is that I don't receive much feedback. Occasionally, I get a nugget, but more times than not, people download Book Me and that is the last I hear from them. If you download Book Me, please tell me what you think. If you like it tell me. If you don't like it tell me. Those of you that visit my site are not clicking on the ads that show up in the sidebars. That leads me to believe that putting Adsense ads on my blogs may just be cluttering it up. I am seriously thinking about pulling them off. Sometime I wonder if they even work the way Google claims they do. Google Gods, I am growing weary. Show me the money...

Kids fly free?

Apparently Southwest Airlines is serious about being kid-friendly. During 2009 a woman on one of their flights headed for Salt Lake City decided to have a baby. Although the crew diverted the flight to Denver, the baby wasn't about to be upstaged and made its way into the world at 30,000 feet. The lucky guy was ushered in by a doctor and two nurses that just happened to be on the flight. I wonder if this was a case where "kids fly free"?

When submitting a flight, you will see the screen to the left. Just enter some basic information including you confirmation number along with the date and time of your flight. I just completed some changes to make Book Me a little more user friendly. Reservations that include multiple travelers can now be handled by Book Me. I also did away with the nagging log in. Once you have logged in the first time, you won't have to log in again. Let me know if you are experiencing any issues. Feedback is expected and appreciated.

I need your feedback. I think Book Me is working correctly, but I can't be sure without your feedback. I have learned from experience that when you think all is well, there might be a fire in the kitchen. Any fire can be extinguished, but you can't put out the fire if you don't know its there. Let me know if you are having a good experience or if you are having problems, big or small.

There's a Bug - Splat! Its been Squashed!

If any of you downloaded the latest version of Book Me over the past couple of days, you may not have been able to log onto the software. My bad! There was a bug running in the background that may have kept your browser from validating the software. The bug has been eliminated. It should be smooth sailing, or should I say smooth flying now.

If you haven't tried Book Me, please do so by downloading it now. Just click on the big red "A" up in the left corner of your screen to start the download. If you were one of the unfortunate folks that tried, but couldn't log on, please try again. You shouldn't need to download the software again unless you uninstalled it. The issues were in my barn, not yours.

TGIF - Its the weekend at last!

Ohio State vs. Wisconsin and the Yankees vs. Twins. I love this time of year. What did we do before HD TV. Technology is a wonderful thing. A 60 inch screen doesn't hurt either. Its just like being there. I love the way TBS is putting the "PitchTrax" in the bottom right hand corner of the screen although I would rather see it on the left side of the screen. It must be a left brain / right brain thing.
